Water
The District Water and Sanitation sector is under the works department and its major mandate is to increase access to safe water and promotion of sanitation and hygiene among the communities of Gomba District Local Government.
SECTOR OBJECTIVES
1.
To Increase access to Clean and Safe Water in Villages and Towns from current 75% to 80% by year (2021-2030) within a radius of 1 Km with the aim of providing a Water Source per Village through mini piped water systems.
2.
To ensure sustainable and operational water and sanitation facilities in the district.
3.
To increase access to basic sanitation facilities by creating awareness and empowering communities to eliminate open defecation within 5 to 10 villages, rotational per parish depending on the funds available.
